Rescue:

From their rescuer: “I have several outside cats that I feed. Their Mom would occasionally
show up, beginning in the summer of 2020, to eat and take shelter in our shed equipped with
heat lamps. She was very skittish in the beginning, eating quickly and keeping her distance.
Then one crisp spring day I found four kittens under one of the lamps when I was filling the
food dishes. They looked to be only a day old. I moved them into a carrier for better shelter
and fortunately the mom followed them in. Perfect! I quickly moved them into the workshop
that is attached to the house and is heated, made up a cozy bed for the kittens and the mom
settled down, realizing her kittens were safe. Over the next couple months I was able to gain
her confidence and have been handling the kittens since they were about 3 weeks old. They
have had a lot of attention from early on, since I have four granddaughters who stayed with
me during the summer. This is Oreo and his sister Cookie and they are lovely young cats.

Personality:

Oreo and his sister, Cookie, love to play together. They have created games of Hide & Seek
as well as romping around the living room playing Tag and Pounce. Those certainly are their
favorite games. Oreo is very curious, always wanting to see what you are doing, looking for
new things to play with and exploring new places. He also loves to be pet, taking a break from
playing with his sister to come looking for attention. Purring loudly, Oreo lets you know he
wants to be picked up and cuddled. Cookie is a little more reserved. She usually follows
Oreo’s lead during playtime, however will sometimes hide from her Brother, pouncing on him
when the opportunity arises. She is a purring machine when being pet, and is learning that lap
cuddles are great. Oreo and Cookie are ready to be adopted into their forever home. One
that will welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors.
