Rescue:
A woman who contacted a local cat rescue organization, small in size with high intake and
less amount of adoption. She had found this lovely dilute calico cat wandering the
neighborhood. She could see that this cat, who she named Amy, was very friendly and very
sweet. But it took no time at all for her to realize that she was pregnant. The woman had
been feeding Amy for a couple of weeks and after having good nutrition the pregnancy
really took hold and the kittens began to grow inside of her. She brought her into the home
where she gave birth to five little kittens. It was lovely to see them when she brought them
into our care, they were just five or six weeks of age at the time, healthy and friendly. Such
a delight to have kittens that were born in a house and not under a deck, in the shed or in a
barn. Soon they were on their way to a foster home where they have all thrived.
Personality:
Amy is one of the friendliest cats our family has ever met! She will always come to greet
us with purrs and affection. She has been gentle with both adults and children. She has
been eager to explore our home when she has the chance and seems generally curious
and confident; however, the couple of times she ran into our resident cat, she was quite
scared. She has been staying in a bedroom with her kittens, and has been noticeably
anxious about noises outside of the door, usually startling and growling. However, this
never has resulted in any negative behaviour towards anyone in the room with her while
this is happening. This beautiful cat has been easy to care for and a pleasure to have
around – she will make a great pet! Amy is ready to
be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her
into the family and keep her safely indoors.
