Rescue:
Baby S’mores (named by her rescuers) was found in a subdivision in the south end of the city.
This is an established neighbourhood where people are friendly and stray cats are rare. Little
S’mores could be heard crying but no one could locate her. She was in some dense bushes
which had many spaces underneath only a kitten of eight weeks old could scramble through.
Since she was mostly black, she couldn’t be seen in the shadows and was virtually invisible.
She was very frightened, all alone and desperate to be rescued, but also unsure of these
people (giants in her mind) and what their intentions were for her. A notice went out in the
neighbourhood website asking if anyone knew where the kitten came from, any other babies
in the area or if a mom was found. No one knew. Eventually three people teamed up and
were able to calmly and safely corral S’Mores into safety and soon she was on her way to Pet
Patrol. What a little sweetheart. A full tummy and some cuddles were much appreciated and
she purred as soon as she arrived in our care.
Personality:
S’mores is a sociable little gal with a lot of energy and personality. Her favorite thing to do is
run and play, she will chase with her toys all over the house, happily pouncing on them and
chase again. Despite loving to run she’s a bit clumsy still and will sometimes fall and trip over
herself (which is of course very cute). She loves to be picked up and cuddled and you’ll know
she wants you to pick her up when she stands at your feet and looks up at you with her adorable
eyes. She’s also a purr-machine and will absolutely love any attention you give her. S’
mores is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family
and keep her safely indoors.
