Rescue:
A young male cat showed up at a scrapyard/auto repair shop out in the country. It was about 10
minutes outside of the city and off the beaten path, but well known in the area for what they do. At
times there has been an abundance of cats on the property and rescue organizations have
helped to bring in some of the felines and re home them. All were spayed or neutered, and
vaccinated before being adopted. This location seems to be a common dumping ground for
cats that are no longer wanted but sometimes they also wander in from nearby barns. Named
Colby because of his orange and white colours, he was attracted to the cat food that was put out
daily for the colony, and the shelter provided. The man who runs the yard contacted a volunteer
because he felt this friendly guy needed a better place to be than amongst non functioning cars,
metal and scrap. Plus, the resident male cats would not accept him and were picking on him.
Personality:
Colby is such a nice boy and it is quite a mystery as to where he originally came from. He has not
been in Pet Patrol care for very long but in that time he has shown us a very loving and affectionate
side, he is laid-back and has excepted his new environment. He was a little bedraggled when
he arrived, hungry and had been exposed to the ever changing summer weather. Once he overcame
a cold and then recovered from his neuter surgery he was introduced to the other cats.
They think he is great. Colby is one to enjoy pets, cuddling and the discovery of toys has been
fun to watch. He is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that we will welcome him into
the family and keep him safely indoors.
