Rescue:

Rhia came to Pet Patrol after the following voice message was left on our machine. “We have
a little cat that we found in our blue box sitting on our porch.” The rest of her story involved that
she was noticed about two weeks before, outside, on their property. It was -12° in the middle
of winter. Their dog would chase her all the time, trying to run her off, but she didn’t have any
place to go and was at risk of freezing to death. She was meowing at the people inside their
nice warm house for help, but they didn’t take her inside. Trying to stay close so they would
notice her, she crawled into the blue box on the porch as she had nothing else for shelter. We
are sure Rhia had never felt so close to dying and so alone than during that bone chilling night.
In the morning they finally took her into the house which was such a relief, but seeing how thin
and weak she was they weren’t interested in keeping her. Transportation was arranged and
now safe, in Pet Patrol care, it was noted that Rhia doesn’t have a right eye. With the support
from a GFM campaign all her medical needs were met and she is now ready for her new
family.

Personality:

From the minute Rhia came into the sanctuary she showed how grateful she was. She is
friendly, affectionate, easy going and has regained her health beautifully without issue. She is a
dear little cat, petite in stature and very kind of heart. Once recovered she was introduced to
other cats and has done very well. She is cuddly, a lap cat and easy to pick up and carry.
Rhia’s origin is unknown, but toys were a mystery to her, and it has been fun watching her play
and interact with them. She is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome
her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
