Rescue:
Tootsie and Mouse have been raised in a home with other cats and two dogs, one very large
and one pretty small. They are related, same mom, but from different litters and they have
grown quite attached to each other. Their owners were quite happy with their furry family but
sometimes life changes, and we have to make tough decisions. The husband wanted to
retire; he had worked in a labour-intensive field all his life, had his own business and he and
his wife needed to downsize. He was not interested in owning a property that required maintenance,
he just wanted to relax and help out the firm here and there with his skills. They
looked at many properties and settled on a high rise condo in the heart of the city. A huge
change from their country property and big house. Unfortunately, they could not take all the
animals with them. Some were adopted by family members, but as the moving date approached,
Tootsie and Mouse still needed to be re homed. They were the favourites and it
was very difficult for the couple to see them go. Tears were shed when they were brought into
Pet Patrol care and soon after picked up by their new foster mom. It didn’t take long for them
to settle in, explore and show their outgoing and affectionate side.
Personality:
These boys are brothers and a bonded pair. They get along well with everyone; other cats,
dogs and new people coming into the house. They love to give and receive affection and
both are quite playful. Mouse is the chatty one and will ask questions, let you know if he is
hungry or wants some attention. Although Tootsie may seem less talkative, he communicates
quite well with his people. It is preferred that they are adopted together, into a loving and
affectionate home. One that will welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors.
