Rescue:

One evening Pet Patrol received a message from a foster home, concerned about a cat that
just showed up on their front lawn. Their home is located near a popular park, a busy street
and a downtown area. As the weather was very nice they were outside, topping up their feeding
station for any stray cats, and realized that a scruffy black cat was sitting nearby watching
them. He didn’t move much, just blinked and waited. This was Roland. The couple moved
away from the feeding station and watched as he quietly approached the food and ate. He
appeared to be thin and dirty, nervous and hungry. His ears were ragged and his fur thinning
and dull, showing that he had been through a few battles while on the street. Seeing an opportunity
to rescue a cat, a humane trap was set up and in no time Raymond was secured, and on
his way to Pet Patrol

Personality:

Roland is a lovely boy who likes to have his head, neck and ears gently massaged with a little
scratching too. When he arrived at the sanctuary he obviously had been getting the brunt of the
battles outside with his nicked ears and scars. He is a nice cat though, not very big and his fur
now has a nice glossy black sheen to it. He is showing us that he is fine with other cats, good
with people and is feeling more carefree. Toys are a bit of a mystery to him but he is starting
to catch on. Of course, a catnip mouse is quite enticing, as is a solid cardboard box, a warm
sunbeam and sleeping on a soft bed. Roland is a lovely boy ready to be adopted into his
forever home preferably as an only cat. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him
safely indoors
