Rescue:
Corky and his feline family came from a house that is very old, very rural, and extremely rundown.
A man lives there on his own and it looks like he has been there for many years. He doesn’t
seem to be very handy as everything is in poor shape. floors are worn and have holes in them,
nothing has been moved in many years and probably nothing cleaned in 40 years. An ad was put
on social media because he felt it was time to find homes for some of the cats. He had raised
them to be loving cats, very social and accepting of new environments. But he had just too many
for his liking. Previously three cats had been rehomed and when Pet Patrol arrived it was obvious
the environment was not healthy for either himself or the cats. Expecting he would only give
us two cats we were lucky enough to get three and after that more. Caide and his siblings were
immediately brought to the sanctuary, bathed, treated for parasites and soon after were spayed
or neutered. They are wonderful loving cats deserving of a much better life.
Personality:
Corky is quite a chatty cat. Being deaf he can’t hear himself, and without his cousin Caide he
can carry on quite a conversation. He definitely lets you know that he wants something and it is
usually a cuddle, canned food or play time. Like all deaf cats he sleeps soundly and a little tap on
his bed will gently get his attention. He is very bright and doesn’t miss a thing. He knows when
you are coming home and watches you for cues as to when he can be on your lap. He and
Caide can be found side by side often, and they love to chase after a toy that bounces or rolls.
Corky is very active and outgoing and ready to be adopted into a forever home. One that will
welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
