Rescue:

Pet Patrol had received a message from a young woman who noticed four cats living outside.
They were under the steps leading up to the entrance of an apartment building. This was
in the middle of the city with busy roads, cars, people, dogs etc. No one knows where the cats
came from originally. The woman said one of the cats was trying to get into her apartment as
the weather was very cold, wet and windy. We suggested that she let it in and corral it into a
small room like the bathroom and we would come and pick it up. But we didn’t hear back from
her. We knew the cats were being fed and hopefully finding homes with some of the tenants.
Then a message was sent to us from someone who had previously adopted a cat from us.
She said she had rescued a cat that she had found living underneath the stairs of an apartment
building! Yes! Same situation, same location. The cat was brought to us, a pretty little
spotted gray tabby who is now named Willow. She had no microchip and until we took her to
the vet did not know if she was spayed or not. We are in the process of trying to rescue the
other cat under the stairs, perhaps it is her brother or one of her kittens.

Personality:

Willow is such a sweet cat and is very people oriented. She will rub up against you legs,
standing on her tippy toes, her back arched and tail up high. Purring is her specialty and she
loves to be pet, have her ears and chin scratched, brushed and cuddled. She is learning
about toys and will softly bat at a feather toy but catnip mice are her favourite. Although Willow
lived with several other cats outside, it might have been for warmth and reassurance in a cold
and scary world. She seems fine as an only cat or introduced slowly to one other easy going
kitty. This pretty girl is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her
into the family and keep her safely indoors.
