Rescue:
A woman who has rescued neighbourhood cats for quite a few years has seen many cats
come and go. Some were owned but most were either lost or never had the opportunity to be
cared for properly by people. One day she became alarmed when she was told about an
orange tabby who was being kept on a balcony in a high-rise apartment building. It was not far
from her own apartment so she headed right over. Apparently, this sweet boy was not allowed
indoors. This was Thor. As the story unfolded he was originally owned by the tenant’s ex-boyfriend
and her upset was mis-directed into his cat. Thor was not neutered and was left
behind when the man moved out and refused to return for his cat. The woman who rescued
him said she never saw a cat dart into a carrier so fast. He was very ready to get out of there.
Within a few days he was neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and has settled into living
indoors with warmth and comfort.
Personality:
Such a nice boy and so deserving of a good home. Thor took no time at all to share his appreciation
of being rescued, by purring deeply, butting his head against your hand and pawing at
your arm for more attention. He was taking it all in. At first he was not too sure about being at
the sanctuary, the new people and activities because his life had been so solitary before. But
it didn’t take long for him to settle and become a relaxed and happy cat. Thor is ready to be
adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely
indoors.
