Rescue:
A woman who works in barns helping to clean them out and tend to the animals heard about
a lovely black cat that had showed up at her friend’s farm. He was in fairly rough shape but
so very friendly. She didn’t want to leave him at the farm because it had been sold and they
had already cleared out all the animals. There was nothing there for him, so the woman took
him home intending to keep him. Living in the same neighbourhood as one of Pet Patrol‘s
volunteers, and telling her of this lovely black kitty, our volunteer checked him for a microchip.
Sure enough he had one. On contacting the person registered she said he was a
stray in her neighbourhood some two years before. She had taken him in to the local shelter,
and deemed unadoptable, he was neutered and microchipped and released. That is
called a trap neuter release. At the time she didn’t know if he was friendly or not. He hung
around for another couple of weeks then disappeared; he popped up once more and then
was gone. When Landon was discovered recently he was in a village some 50 miles away!
We have no idea how he ended up there. Once in our care he proved to be a lovely friendly
cat. He definitely does not want to live outdoors anymore.
Personality:
Landon is a very accepting boy who is very appreciative of being indoors. He is laid back,
loving, affectionate and gentle. He does not mind being picked up, cuddled, will come to
you when you call and he is good with other cats as well. Although playing with toys was
not on his list to do when he came into our care, getting well and recuperating was, he will in
time. He just needs a good family that will love him unconditionally and appreciate the hardships
he has unnecessarily endured. Landon is ready to be adopted into his forever home.
One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
