Rescue:
Betty’s story, told by her rescuer: Throughout the cold and wet month of December I had
noticed tiny cat prints in the snow. It is not common for us to see stray cats in our neighbourhood,
so I was concerned and put out food for any kitties that might be hungry. Wanting
them to receive some shelter I set up food and water in my garage and kept the door
cracked open for them to come and go. Soon after I caught a glimpse of little Betty going
into the garage, I waited by the window and saw her leave again. She seemed so young to
be out on her own. I decided to rescue her. It was too cold for a cat to be outside and since
she was visiting me on a regular basis, I felt confident to try. After two nights with the humane
trap set and checking it regularly, I found Betty inside. She was very calm and quiet,
and so wide eyed
Personality:
Betty has a sweet personality. She was quite timid when she first came into Pet Patrol
care, not understanding where she was and what was going to happen to her. She was
alone and frightened. But once we touched her she immediately started to purr and roll
over to show her belly. Her purr is loud and shows her contentment with the affection she
is receiving. Betty is still learning about toys, but was quite enthusiastic about the crinkle
balls and anything that dangled. She is a dear little cat. Betty is ready to be adopted into
her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors
