Rescue:
Pet Patrol has a lot of laundry at the sanctuary. Our washing machine needs to be sturdy
and dependable to handle all the bedding, towels and sheets. But like most machines they
do tend to break down and we have gotten to know our repair man quite well. One day he mentioned
that he had been feeding a little gray and white cat outside his house. It was friendly
and good with his kids, but he already had a cat and dog and wasn’t interested in having
another pet in the house. How long has he been feeding it? Two months he said. That’s an
awfully long time for a little cat to be outside defenseless, and on its own. To protect her
against the cold winter, blowing winds and snow his family had put a box out for her on their
porch and she seemed to spend most of her time there. Within a day he brought us this little
cat, now named Tinsel. What a sweetheart! As soon as she had eaten her fill of food, she
was curled up in a nice warm bed and happily sleeping soundly.
Personality:
Tinsel will go to anyone, and has made herself at home in the sanctuary. She is sweet,
gentle, affectionate and easy to pick up. An all round nice cat. It is unknown where she
originally came from, how she ended up on the street, but she was very lucky to find this
particular house. It has been quite interesting to watch her discover toys, and to romp
around after them. She likes to dive into the kitty tunnels and sit up on the cat climber
perch, watching the happenings inside and outside of the sanctuary. Tinsel is ready to be
adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her
safely indoors
