Rescue:
Pet Patrol received an email from a man who had found a young cat in his wood pile. This
would be Daniel. The man lives outside of a small tourist town, last property before the train
tracks. It’s a quiet spot and over the summer they had enjoyed no traffic as there was construction
up at the corner. One day he went into the shed to retrieve something and this little
orange and white flash went by him and disappeared. Where did he go? There is a variety
of tools, lawn tractor etc. and he was worried that whatever was in there would get hurt
Immediately he put food out, knowing it was a kitten because of the colour orange, in order
to help it survive. He had no idea where it would have come from because rarely does he
see cats in his area. The man came to the sanctuary and picked up a humane trap and felt it
might take a little while before he could catch Daniel. He went home but within an hour he
called and said the little guy was in the trap. “He must’ve been very hungry even though I
was feeding him.” But he had put very smelly cat food in the trap and Daniel went right in.
Personality:
From his foster mom: Daniel is a pretty chill cat; he is content to lie around and watch me
work. He likes enclosed spaces and also looking out the window watching the world go by.
In terms of his personality, he is very affectionate and likes to crawl on my shoulders when I
hold him, and he is pretty good at hanging on while I walk around and do my tasks! He is ok
with being on his own when I’m away at work. He likes sitting in small corners and crawl
spaces to feel secure but will nap peacefully on the couch next to my home office. Daniel is
an adorable boy ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into
the family and keep him safely indoors
