Rescue:

A lady had messaged Pet Patrol and also left a phone message in regards to six kittens
living under her back deck. She was quite concerned for them and have a very difficult time
trying to rescue them. She was trying to hand catch them which can be quite risky as the
kittens could be frightened and bite, and also the whole experience can be terrifying for
them. Using a carrier baited with stinky canned food the kittens went in eagerly to eat. The
door was gently closed behind them and they were safe. The neighbor next-door, being a
very elderly lady, offered her basement spare bedroom for the kittens to live in until other
plans could be made. At least now they were inside and safe. Three appeared to be quite
shy and three were fairly friendly. A Pet Patrol volunteer went over to rescue the kittens but
having a stranger in their room was concerning. Gently and slowly she was able to rescue
them and provide them with safe transportation to the sanctuary.

Personality:

Like the other kittens in this litter, Hattie started her progress with Pet Patrol very slowly.
But with time and patience she has excelled, and will contitue to become more confident
with her people over time. Hattie is ok with being cuddled and pet, but with any distractions
or loud noises she will head back to her safety room. She loves cuddles and neck scratches
and extremely cooperative during brushing and being pet. She knows certain spots that she
likes and will lounge around there all day. It has been interesting watching her play with new
toys and her eyes light up with the laser pen light. Hattie is ready to be adopted into a
forever home. One that will welcome her into a calm and quiet home and keep her safely
indoors.
