Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a phone call from a smaller cat rescue organization. They have been
working with a woman over the last couple of years in regard to abandoned cats showing
up on her farm property. She really didn’t want a lot of cats and knowing that if they weren’t
fixed, they would breed uncontrollably, she reached out. But the smaller rescue was not
able to take in the four cats that the woman wanted to release custody of right away. Her
farm was fairly sizable, there are cattle in the barn and a number of chickens. The kittens
she said just showed up one day. They were quite small, and she had no idea where they
came from. A mother cat was never seen and could have gone unseen in the vast hayloft.
Did someone dump them in the barn or were they born there? She raised the kittens
and they became quite friendly and affectionate. In the morning they would run up to the
house to be fed and dance around her feet. They are good with her lab dog and chasing
down dried leaves as they danced across the driveway. This is the rescue story for Alfalfa
and his BFF Aubree. They are now happily living indoors in their foster home and ready
for adoption.
Personality:
Alfalfa is a quiet, sweet boy. He takes a bit of time to warm up and gain trust, but once he
does, he will accept affection. He is independent, but when he is unsure, he will hide until
he feels safe. He is quite bonded to his BFF Aubree, and the two of them are very playful,
and it has been interesting watching them discover toys; they also enjoy napping on a
sunny windowsill. Alfalfa has a lot of potential to open up and blossom into an affectionate,
well adjusted cat especially when he can follow the lead of Aubree. Alfalfa is ready to be
adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him
safely indoors
