Rescue:
Cousecous and Jazzy came from separate rescue situations but became fast, inseparatable
friends. Our little black and white kitten, Couscous came from a co-worker of one of Pet
Patrol’s volunteers. She and her husband owned a farm and they have at least 25 cats that
are all black and white. One day she heard a tiny kitten crying. while she was feeding the
chickens, and turned to look around and there she was, little Couscous. She was sitting on the
cold and damp cement floor screaming at the lady to pick her up, which she readily did. Wee
Jazzy also came from a country property where the neighbour’s cats breed freely. There are
several acres of abandoned trailers, sheds, cars and junk, for the cats to find shelter out of the
elements, but little food and no people attention. The pregnant cats migrate to the neighbours
yard and to a woman’s chicken coop. There are no chickens in there any more, just cats who
she feeds, raises the kittens and finds homes for or brings to Pet Patrol.
Personality:
Couscous is a brave and adventurous kitten. She has no fear and that probably got her on a
journey away from her siblings in the barn. But she is an endearing kitten, full of fun and play,
game for anything. Discovering toys has been a wonderful thing for her and she likes to run
and tussle with her foster sister Jazzy. It only took a day or two for her to begin purring and
showing her appreciation of being rescued. Jazzy is a sweet kitten who is easy to pick up and
cuddle. She started to play with toys immediately after coming into our care. These two
kittens have been roommates and kindred spirits right from the first introductions. Adorable.
They are ready to be adopted into their forever home together. One that will welcome them
into the family and keep them safely indoors.
