Rescue:
Eddy’s story as told by his rescuer: Just as the fall leaves were turning I was driving down the
dirt road to my home, and an orange cat ran in front of my car. Nearly getting hit. I got
out to see if I could rescue him, but he ran into the cornfield, and an orange cat in the corn
will not be easily found. I had kept an eye out for him since then and finally two weeks later
he showed up in my barn. I figured he may have been looking for a dilute torti girl that was
spotted the week before. When he saw me in the hayloft, Eddy was very vocal and ran up
to me. I scooped him up and he instantly purred and cuddled into my arms. He enjoyed
being held like a baby, belly up. I fed him and got a carrier which he walked right into. Once
at the Pet Patrol sanctuary he ate a little, drank a little and stretched out for a long, comfy,
safe nap.
Personality:
What an awesome boy he is. Eddy has made instant friends with everyone, feline and
human. He is not shy about showing affectionate. He has made himself right at home here
in the sanctuary and is enjoying the view from inside. Toys are a great thing for him, and he
does understand how they work, which leads us to believe that he was an indoor cat. Was
he abandoned, was he lost and had traveled long distances? We will never know, but he
certainly looks a lot like Ember, and they were found around the same time, in the same
area in the same healthy condition. Eddy is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One
that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
