Gifford

Rescue:

Gifford, Geneva and Gypsy were born outside to a friendly mom that was abandoned at an
apartment building. It appears that someone moved out and just left her behind. Some of
the people in the apartment building had been feeding her and then with Covid limitations
she was not able to be spayed. As would happen, she became pregnant and had her kittens
under some bushes in a densely wooded area. Someone in the complex eventually
adopted her but the kittens were left on the street. There were six little ones and they were
very frightened. This was a low income area and apparently the tennants were not allowed
to set up a humane trap to rescue the babies, but luckily a neighbour who owns his home
offered to help. Unfortunately by this time there were only three kittens left. It is unknown if
they were rescued or became prey. Soon afterwards Pet Patrol was called and we offered
to take them in. They have thrived in their foster home

Personality:

From his foster mom: Gifford has really turned into a love bug from when he was first rescued.
It’s like he’s a different cat! When I walk in the room, he purposely seeks me out for
pets and even walks into my lap! He is not fond of being picked up yet but I try anyway and
he is so gentle when he jumps out of my arms. He enjoys sitting in the windows and carrying
his toy mouse in his mouth, only to plop it into his food dish. He lets my little girls pet him too;
as long as they move slow. He’s more tentative with adult men. He’ll be such a good boy for
some lucky family. Gifford is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that is gentle
and calm, will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors
