Rescue:
There is a small village just off of one of the main highways where it is not uncommon for
people to know each other and also know their pets. So, when there’s a stray cat everyone
takes note. A couple of women take it upon themselves to rescue whoever comes into their
yard, provide shelter, food and water year round. In the case of Roxanne, she was noticed
trotting up the hill following a woman who didn’t seem to realize the small cat was following
her. A short time later, the woman returned and no kitty behind her. Later in the week a
neighbour saw the cat again and she was very pregnant. It was difficult to find her shelter
and it was not near the two women’s homes. Fast forward eight weeks and Roxanne, and her
sons Roo and Ricky Bobby, all came into Pet Patrol care. A bit frightened at first, but very
happy to be inside where it was safe and warm. They have settled into living in a house
and done extremely well with making sure their caregivers are happy, by purring contently in
their arms.
Personality:
Roxanne is a curious cat who enjoys being around others. She likes the company of people
and you can’t pet her enough! She is very content with sleeping in patches of sunlight or
relaxing in a comfy spot, always close by. She is more calm than playful, always ready for a
‘Sunday afternoon cuddle’. Although Roxanne enjoys being around people, she does appreciate
her personal bubble when other animals are around. She would fit in great with a
family that has the time to give her the love she deserves. Roxanne is ready to be adopted
into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
