Rescue:

Little Kelowna was an abandoned kitten. This year with Covid, and being unable to spay or
neuter cats for about nine weeks – during peek breeding season – there has been an abundance
of abandoned kittens and cats. Kelowna and her sister Langley were found on a
country property all by themselves looking weak, thin and disheveled, obviously someone
thought the country life was a good life and dropped them off. The farm they found themselves
on do not feed the cats because they do not want too many of them around. No food,
no cats. But some don’t have the where with all to migrate to another farm or catch mice.
Especially not house cats or wee babies. Kelowna was found in the barn, hiding and unsure
of these strangers trying to find her. Once brought into foster care, this cute little girl has
blossomed and is now quite affectionate.

Personality:

From her foster mom: Kelowna is a pretty little brown tabby. and although she appears to
be a bit shy; she is a very much a “watchful protector” type. She will join in on playing every
now and then with the other kittens. She likes to have a quiet place out of reach where she
can rest and recharge without being bothered. She doesn’t like being picked up very much,
but every day she gets a little more comfortable being around people. She would probably
do best with one or more feline friends. She’s a very talented climber. Kelowna is ready to
be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her
safely indoors.
