Rescue:

Phoenix’s mother was named Pia and before coming into our care she had been living on the
streets and was lucky enough to find a family to feed her. She would come to the same
house every day, lay on the porch and sun herself. She was fed, had a cat shelter and
people who pet her and greeted her with smiles. Since she was not spayed she had a litter
of little grey kittens at the nearby mill and was pretty smart in protecting them from predators.
The opening to her den was under a set of stairs, just big enough for her to get
through and it went in deep and farther than the eye could see. She had two kittens and
they were rescued first, and then Pia came in. By now she was heavily pregnant again and
this time she need not worry about protecting her new litter from predators. She gave birth
to five healthy little kittens under the protective care of one of our foster homes and all have
thrived and now ready for adoption.

Personality:

Phoenix. Despite her sad looking eyes, she is really fun and playful. She enjoys snuggling
up with her siblings and in your arms, and she will roll over for rubs on her chubby little belly.
She is more “chill” than the other kittens. When you walk by her, if you don’t stop to pet her,
she likes to meow at you like “Hey, I saw you there, come love me”. Phoenix is ready to be
adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her
safely indoors.
