Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a call from an elderly woman who was living on her own. She had noticed
a mother cat and her three kittens outside in her backyard. The kittens were quite
small and frightened of the big wild world out there. But the mom kept them safe underneath
the garden shed, only allowing them out to play at dawn and dusk. The woman called Pet
Patrol at that time and we arranged to provide her with a humane trap so that she could set
it up and rescue the kittens. One of our volunteers who lives close to her offered to help. But
as time went on and no kittens were brought into our care, the woman confided that the
mother cat had disappeared and within a few days so did the little ones. She kept a lookout
and two weeks later we received a call that one kitten had returned. It was on the back
deck looking for food. Seeing this the woman quickly put a dish of kibble out and it ate
ravenously. Baby number two and baby number three soon followed and they were all
brought into Pet Patrol care.
Personality:
Pretty little Gia is an explorer and has climbed her foster mom’s little money tree! She
doesn’t want to miss out on anything so if someone is playing with her brother Gibbins, she
will join in. If a kitten is getting pet on a person’s lap she will walk over to join that too. She
is quick to purr when pet. She and her brother Gibbons rough house with each other and
cuddle together also. Both are wonderful and would do well in a home together. Gia is
ready to be adopted into her forever home with her brother. One that will welcome them
into the family and keep them safely indoors.
