Rescue:
Pet Patrol has many volunteers, and like most charities, the more the better. One in particular
lives in a small town not far from the sanctuary and there are often stray cats and ultimately
kittens born in her area. This year we have been able to keep up with the few litters
here and there. Then one day a neighbor was telling her about a little black kitten that was
running around her back deck and scooting underneath when people approached her. She
was tiny, black and very unsure of what to do. Lovey cried and cried. Poor girl. She was
so frightened outside and didn’t know what to do or where to go. Food was put out for her
and she ate ravenously every time. A humane trap was set up and it took four days to
convince her to go in. But when she finally did, she was so relieved to be held and cuddled
by people. Little Lovey has done well in our care and settled in well.
Personality:
Lovey is a quiet yet spunky little girl who will quickly bond with her adoptive parents and
become a loyal companion. She is wary of new situations but with time and patience her
confidence will increase, but generally she is happy and playful. Lovey can get into mischief
while you’re not around and tip her food bowls or knock over household items like books and
magazines. Her favourite sleeping spots are random and unusual, but fun to find her in.
Lovey is a wonderful little kitten who needs a family who will adore her and be her forever
home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors
