Rescue:
A fellow co-worker brought a litter of kittens to the attention of one of our volunteers, during
a conversation. The babies were all orange and living underneath a trailer on a property
that had a lot of outbuildings. Being a supporter of rescuing cats, she was very interested in
helping these little ones grow up in a loving home environment and not a smelly junk yard.
She was given the contact information and approached their caretaker. The man was very
hesitant at first to even talk to her, but when he realized she was a cat lover like he was, he
thought it was worth a chat. He feeds a colony of cats on his property and provides a large
heated trailer for shelter and gives them fresh food and water every day. All the cats have
good weight and clean coats but have never been to a vet. Now that the kittens are in our
care, we will be helping to have the mom and dad cat spayed and neutered to keep it a
controlled colony.
Personality:
Seraphina is the smallest of the five and as cute as a button. She seems quite content
watching everything from the sidelines and jumping in occasionally when she feels like it.
She is getting use to being picked up, the the elevator feeling has always bothered her, but
she does like to rub up against your legs. She is better at getting her pets on her level, and
she will meow for more. She will curl up in tiny places to sleep, and plays with all kinds of
toys. Seraphina is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into
the family and keep her safely indoors.
