Rescue:

Pet Patrol was made aware of a mother cat, a teenage kitten and five little kittens about 10
weeks old that were living out in a field. They were searching for food during the day,
grasping at shade under shrubs and always in need of water. One woman had taken it
upon herself to start feeding the cats, putting out fresh water and soon they took up shelter
under her deck. They were at least safer than out in the open. It was one of our new
volunteers that offered to help rescue the cats, with the help of the lady who lived in the
house. A humane trap was put in place and one kitten and the mother cat were rescued the
first morning. That evening two more kittens came in and next morning one little one. Just
one more baby kitten out there and it came into our care soon after that. All the little ones
were timid at first, but it didn’t take long for them to become accustomed to the love and
affection they received from their foster mom. Now Marcel and his sister Misty are ready
for their new home.

Personality:

Magnolia is not as outgoing as her brother but takes comfort in crumpling into a warm lap.
She’s not much of a purrer but will lean her head into your hand and close her eyes when
you pet her. She’s content to stay in the lap she is put in, but isn’t brave enough to climb in
on her own yet. The laser pointer is the only toy she will play with right now, but is intrigued
by others like jingly toys. She is also the big napper; she has a plush bed here that she sinks
into and is very content. Magnolia still needs some patience to get used to her new owner
but we can definitely see her growing up to be a real lap cat. She is ready to be adopted
into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
