Rescue:

A young woman who lives on a very busy four lane street found this pretty kitty on her second
floor balcony. She could only presume that Queenie had climbed up the wall to reach it, but
cats can jump up fairly high especially when they are desperate for people to help them. The
woman didn’t feel she could afford a second cat, but brought her into her apartment for safe
keeping and then called around to rescue organizations and the local shelter. We have all
looked for Queenie’s original owners on social media, Lost Pet Sites and with local shelters,
but none could be found. We knew she was preowned because she had a pretty pink collar
with a bell, but no ID and no microchip. When our volunteer arrived to bring Queenie to the
sanctuary the woman had grown attached to her and cried. Understandable because this is
one very nice kitty.

Personality:

When Queenie first came into the sanctuary she was pretty over whelmed with the new environment
and the other cats in our care. It took a few days, but she began to make herself
more comfortable and within a week was integrated in with the others. A bit skittish with new
and sudden sounds, she was generally relaxed and enjoying the country view and new people
coming in to see her. She had no issue with the other cats and by watching them she soon
caught onto the scratching post and toys. Queenie is a lovely cat who shows her gratitude with
sweet kitty kisses, deep purrs and will look at you with love in her eyes. She is a dear cat, now
ready for adoption into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep
her safely indoors
