Rescue
One of Pet Patrol’s newly adopted cats leaned against the window screen in his new home and fell out. He kept right on going. So our volunteers went out searching for him and had received many phone calls about sightings. We responded to them all and Petey was a cat that someone thought was the kitty we were looking for. The lost kitty was a brown tabby and white. Petey is similar, but with more white on him and a bit longer hair. It was disappointing for us, but we could not just walk way from Petey. Realizing that no one was going to help this lovely boy, our Pet Patrol volunteer took him home. From there he went to the vet and was scanned for a microchip (none), vaccinated and neutered. It has taken some time for Petey to feel comfortable here. We are not sure if he was ever handled by people, but he is making progress.
Personality
Petey is a good looking cat. He is young and playful and is very comfortable in his foster home. He is very appreciative of the care he is given and we can pet him while he is eating, relaxed or rubbing up against another foster kitty. You can see him on a regular basis walking beside another cat, attached at the hip it seems, smiling and purring away. He will head butt other cats, groom their ears and is often napping with a pile of them on the bed. Petey is still easily frightened ofloud noises and will not let anyone touch him if he sees it coming. He is part of Pet Patrol’s Commitment of the Heart program as we do not expect to find him a forever home until he is more social. In the meantime a sponsor to help support Petey while in our care would be appreciated. He is a wonderful cat.
