Mickey was a surprise rescue. One of our volunteers who was trying to rescue her own cat, who is quite mischievous and likes to scoot outside, set up her humane trap. Her cat is pure white and easy to spot, not only for herself but for wildlife who may prey on him. She placed the trap in the barn as she had noticed him going through there on a daily basis, usually in the late morning and early evening. Around noon the next day she noticed that the door was closed on the trap and hurried towards it hoping it was her boy. Instead she found Mickey. She had only noticed him on a few rare occasions sniffing around her garbage bins near the back door. As soon as he realized he was being watched he would run away quickly. She thought he might have come from a neighboring barn, but they were many fields away. Immediately Mickey was brought into Pet Patrol care and he soon proved that he was friendly and affectionate. Her own cat was later rescued.

Mickey has really become quite the nice little cat. He likes when you pet him and give him a nice back massage, he purrs easily and likes to rub up against your legs. He is slim and needs to put on a pound or two, but that will come with time and comfort. He is fine with other cats, and he will be found laying near them and bunting heads with them too. He is a dear little cat who is learning about being indoors and appears to be quite content with it. Mickey is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
