Max was living with his owner who was eighty seven years old. He had a quiet and comfortable life, lots of petting and snuggles in front of the TV. There were a few visitors, most were family who helped the man out since his partner had been moved to a nursing home. She unfortunately suffered from Alzheimer and was unable to stay at home. So Max was great company for this elderly man who had his challenges as well. When he went into the hospital and doctors had to amputate his other leg, the family knew he would never be returning home. What to do with Max? No one in the family wanted him. This is not an uncommon, but an incredibly sad situation when a senior is unable to look after their pet any longer and no one else wants it. Luckily a foster home came forward just as Max came into our care and he was able to go from one home to the other easily.

Being an only cat in a very quiet home, Max is used to having his own space and can be a little shy at first. Everything is new to him and in the beginning it can be a bit over whelming. But he will seek you out for petting with mewing like a kitten. It is very sweet. He does enjoy gentle belly rubs and being brushed. He actually has experienced a shoulder ride in his foster home and was ok with that, and loves to explore his new environment. Max is ready for his next adventure, a new home, and he will again make someone very happy. A home that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
