Rescue:

The weather had been dreadfully hot, it was almost the middle of summer and very little shelter from the heat. There was an impending storm and two days of rain to follow. One of Pet Patrol’s foster homes has children and they were in the backyard playing baseball with their friends. As it started to rain her nine year old daughter came in the house with this kitty and excitedly yelled “mom, look what I found!” There she was holding a relieved but concerned Kaleb, Kahn’s brother. He was curled up under the big tree, near the back of the yard. trying to stay dry from the rain. Where did he come from? The search for other kittens resumed the next day and four more babies and their mother, Kiana, were found living under a front porch of a house. The woman living there fed them unidentifiable mushy food on the lawn and said she “liked cats but not in the house and it was hard to keep kittens alive during the winter”. We feel very fortunate that she relinquished custody of all the cats to Pet Patrol and we were able to accommodate them. They were all friendly and affectionate, and very happy for a soft bed, a climate controlled environment and proper cat food. Siblings: Kaleb, Kricket, KoKo and Keisha.

Personality:

Right from the beginning Kahn proved to be a very friendly and affectionate kitten. It’s obvious that he was handled by people before and is very comfortable being in your arms. Like all kittens he is very curious, playful, energetic and social. He gets along with anyone and is very happy to be pet, carried around and given love. He has integrated into the sanctuary without incident, and is very enthusiastic about the kitty climbers and all the toys. Kahn is fine with other cats and children, and is now ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
