Rescue
It is difficult when you are on a limited income, and wanting to have something fun and positive in your home, like a kitten, but realistically you are not able to afford the initial Vet care for the spay or neuter. But that has never stopped anyone from bringing home a free kitten. The trouble begins when the cat gets to be six months old. A female cat will go into heat, howl, cry, act silly and may even get out of the house. Male cats will develop a pungent odour to their urine and will sometimes burst out a screened window if he smells a female in heat on the wind. Yes, they can smell those raging hormones on a breeze, and they will travel up to five miles a day to mate. After their ‘fun’, the cat soon realizes that it is lost, no home, no food, no shelter and now no one around to save it. In the case of Jitterbug, his momma was an indoor cat who got out of the house. One of these lost tom cats found her, and being in heat … well she just was not thinking straight. Her owners found her luckily but since her heat had stopped they assumed she was pregnant and accepted that fact. Eight weeks later six little kittens, Jitterbug being one of them were born into a tightly financed home.
Personality
Jitterbug is a very friendly and affectionate little cat, who has been handled gently by the family that raised him and his siblings. He is playful, curious and inquisitive. He likes to know who is coming into the house and will greet them with little mews and his tail straight up in the air. He is as outgoing and playful as he is loving to his care givers. Jitterbug is adorable and would make an excellent addition to any home. He is a great family cat and ready to be adopted. He is looking for a home that will welcome him as part of the family and will keep him safely indoors.
