Rescue
Pet Patrol became aware of Bootsie and the serious situation in which he was living when a call was received from a Veterinarian. A woman, one of his clients, is a severe hoarder and her home has an extraordinary amount of clutter and cats, which has built up over time. She admitted that she had 35 cats and fourteen kittens living in her home with her. It is a confined space, extremely unclean and an unhealthy environment for all. Bootsie lived with the constant smell of urine and feces, as well as dust and mould issues. The woman was employed and provided the cats with premium cat food, however she was unable to have them spayed or neutered. Subsequently, because of the deterioration of the rental property, she has been evicted from her home and with the help of the Veterinarian, Pet Patrol and other cat rescue organizations are bringing the cats into their care for adoption.
Personality
Bootsie was actually found out on the street by the woman who housed him. She heard a meow coming from the bushes, out walked Bootsie, and the woman’s immediate thought was “Oh no, not another lost cat!”. She found out from a neighbour that he had been living in the bushes for a few weeks, and was wandering onto the road. She took him home to keep him safe, and to find his owners, and for the next three days he just ate and slept. Not being neutered probably attributed to him getting lost or being abandoned, and his original owners were never found. Bootsie is playful, energetic, sweet and oh so loveable. He is best buddies with Simba and they can be found curled up together daily. Bootsie is easy to love, as he likes to be picked up, carried, cradled, petted, brushed and made a fuss over. He is ready to be adopted into his forever home, one that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
