Rescue
A Pet Patrol volunteer was made aware of a newly separated man’s dilemma. He had six young cats who he could not care for any longer, and could not afford for them to be spayed or neutered. It appears that he and his wife separated and together they owned three cats, also unaltered, hence this litter of six (five black, one Siamese cross). He moved from the family home into a rented house on a farm property, taking the younger cats with him. When our volunteers arrived they were met with the strong odor of old urine in the house. The floors and walls were dirty, and the house was cluttered. The cats were friendly, but when they saw a new person they shot down into the basement, with the dog in hot pursuit. The man made attempts to get the cats, but we eventually had to go down into the old house basement to retrieve them more efficiently. It was like a sewer down there. The floor was littered with insulation and plastic bags, and there was urine and feces everywhere. Unbelievable. All the cats, once rescued were happy to be bathed and then taken to their foster homes. Aurora made herself quite at home.
Personality
Aurora is a very sweet, affectionate and loving kitty. As you can see she has made herself quite comfortable in her foster home. She loves her toys and took to them right away (we did not see a single toy at her original home), likes to chase the laser pen light and play on the kitty climber. Aurora is cuddly and affectionate, and quite the lap cat. She is now ready to be adopted into her forever home. One where she is welcomed into the family and kept safely indoors. She is very cute.
