Rescue:
A woman was sitting on her front step, having her lunch (tuna sandwich) when she heard a
little meow. She looked around and didn’t see a cat anywhere. When she heard it again,
she got up and started looking through her front garden. When she parted her hosta plants,
there he was, looking up at her with sad eyes and the thoughts of maybe getting some of
that tuna. She easily picked him up and took him inside the house. He didn’t resist at all.
First thing was to feed him and make sure he was comfortable, second thing was to find his
original owner. Houdini came with a collar on, so, someone somewhere was missing him.
She put out notices in her neighbourhood, reported him to all the cat rescue organizations
and local shelters. No one claimed him. After a week she brought him to Pet Patrol in
hopes that he would be adopted after he was neutered. This is our goal for him.
Personality:
Such a handsome looking cat Houdini is now, but when he was first rescued he was thin and
had many mats embedded in his fur. He showed his love and appreciation right away and
was fine with the other cats in the house. He was named Houdini because he could disappear
in an instant. With stealth like agility he can disappear in an instant, only to be finally
found curled up sleeping, or up high gazing out the window at the world. He is very friendly
and affectionate and ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him
into the family and keep him safely indoors.
