Rescue:

Rescuing KeKee took time and patience, but soon our volunteer was able to bring her into
safety. This pretty little cat showed up at a trailer home park in early February. She was
dirty and thin in appearance and initially spotted on the trail camera. This is set up to see
what critters are coming to the feeding station and if they keep to a routine. The woman
who lives on the property is a volunteer for Pet Patrol and well versed in rescuing cats and
injured wild life. KeKee came in sporadically but quickly learned the habits of the skunk and
raccoon and showed up early before they ate all the food. Then a big snow storm came a
few weeks later and KeKee did not come to the feeding station for four days, until the
weather cleared. It seems she had had enough of winter weather, being cold and hungry
and was spotted sitting on the deck looking into the warm house. Nice smelly tuna was
used in the humane trap to lure her in, and it worked, but, the trap did not close. KeKee
left. The second attempt to rescue her was successful and she was rescued. Safe from
the cold at last.

Personality:

KeKee was happy to be rescued and have the luxuries of living indoors, but she was pretty
resistive to people. She has been in Pet Patrol care for quite a few months and made
herself at home, choosing a kitty condo house by the window and sharing the food and water
dishes with the other cats. But people were just not her thing. With time and patience we
were able to pet her, tentatively, but she would also swat and hiss and scoot away. With
wanting the best for KeKee we feel she would blossom being a hobby
farm cat, an environment that she is used to and was born into. KeKee is
ready to be adopted into her forever hobby or horse farm. One that
will watch out for her and treat her as any family pet.
