Rescue:

When Pet Patrol first began, over 20 years ago, a farm just north of the city was brought to our attention. The man and his wife has just purchased the 10 acre property and had boarding for horses and a few of their own. They expected that there would be a few cats in the barn when they moved in and put food out for them to see who and how many. They were astounded when more than 30 cats appeared from all corners of the vast barn. Oh my! When Pet Patrol was called, there had been an influx of kittens born and the owners needed help. As our volunteers climbed up the ladder to the loft, they saw at least fifteen nests made of bales of hay, horse blankets and heat lamps hanging from the rafters. It was surreal, but they were doing their best to keep all the kittens safe and warm. The cost to feed them was over $400 a month just on cat food – 20 years ago! Since then, and with the help of other rescue organizations as well, this colony has remained at about twenty five cats. Only the occasional litter is born now, because all the felines have been spayed or neutered. Zeus and his siblings, Zena, Zorro and Zeddy were brought into the house for socializing and to make sure they remained healthy, and then onto Pet Patrol in hopes that new homes could be found for them.

Personality:

Zeus is the largest of his litter, therefore the larger than life name. He is just like his siblings though, gentle and loving, can be cradled like a baby and is very sweet. He is also bold and adventurous and likes to run around and start games of Tag and Indy 500. The play room at the sanctuary is his race track and his agility comes in handy. He migrates to people and other pets, and has no fear or concern. He is adorable. Zeus is ready to be adopted into his forever home with a sibling or where there is a playmate. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
