Rescue
Waverly and her siblings were first noticed by a woman who put food out for her momma. She had not realized that the momma cat, Willa, was pregnant, as she was well fed and long haired. She ended up having four kittens, all long haired except for Waverly. Every evening at six pm, momma would gingerly come towards the open garage door, look all around her, then check out the food dish. Once she realized all was safe she would call her kittens. One by one they would come to the garage, huddle around the food dish and eat eagerly. They were hungry as they had played all day, ran after momma, chased leaves, and slept in the bushes. But winter was approaching, and there is a small window of opportunity to rescue cats and socialize them while young. It took time and patience and a lot of nights of sitting in the cold garage ready to pull the door shut on the big dog cage that the cats were now entering in order to eat their food. But it paid off. We rescued the entire feline family before it snowed.

Personality
Waverly is a beautiful tuxedo cat. She does best with new people who are gentle and don’t rush up to her. She will flop over so you can rub her belly and her paws will knead the air. Quite adorable. Waverly loves to play and is good with other cats too. She can be seen patting at a ball, watching a dangling string with intent, and then grabbing it with excitement. She is quite attached to her brother Wyatt. Waverly would do well in an adult home, as we feel the energy level of children may be upsetting for her. She is a wonderful little cat, ready for a gentle, loving and permanent home.
