Sven and his siblings were from a very rural farm. An elderly couple own the farm, are in their mid eighties and their cat colony has gotten out of control. The daughter was trying to help and get things under control as her parents (especially her mother) are failing. Initially the farm was a beef operation but the cattle are gone now so the barn is much colder this winter. Being conscientious the daughter moved all the kitties over to the horse barn and into the tack room where it is warmer. She has diligently tried to make them all friendly as she realizes that it gives them a much better chance of finding homes. Some she had spayed or neutered; and she is willing to continue to work with our volunteer to have more altered. She asked if we would be able to take in four kittens who were affectionate and comfortable with people. Soon after Shilo, Sven, Sybelle and Smidge came into Pet Patrol care.

Sven was a little unsure when he came into the sanctuary and was greeted with so many new people and and cats. But it didn’t take him long to feel safe and enjoy the head scratches and back massages given daily. Sven is quite a character and will flop over when you greet him, looking at you upside down. He is a joy. It was a lot of fun watching him discover toys, kitty climbers and the cat tunnel. Sven does best with a playmate and it would be nice for him to have one in his new home, or a sibling to go along with him. He is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
