Rescue
Summer was first spotted in the barn at a country property. She was a wild girl and probably had never been touched by people. She lived an open, roaming type of life, but is was far from carefree. She had to hunt for her food, scrounge around, trying to find shelter and not become prey. It is becoming quite apparent that fox and coyote are finding cats to be a delicacy and will hunt them down before they try a musclebound squirrel or rabbit. Summer was always on edge. She showed up one day at the barn where a manufacturing company stored it’s organic gardening mulch. She was engorged with pregnancy, and the men working on the farm immediately started feeding her. Then one day, she was thin, and they knew she had given birth. Four tiny kittens were spotted deep inside the bales of hay, too far in to reach, and protected from other wildlife. Eventually all the kittens, Summer’s hubby, Tobius, her three kittens from the previous fall and her daughter’s two kittens were rescued. The whole family tree! Summer was the last to be rescued, taking one last run around the property and then quickly into the humane trap and onto safety.
Personality
Summer is a beautiful cat with a pretty face, deep green eyes, and a sweet disposition. She is timid and unsure but when she finds someone to trust, she gives all her love to them. She is the type of kitty who needs a serene home where there are not a lot of loud or unpredictable noises (like young children or barking dogs). She has discovered playing with toys now that life is less serious. Summer is pettable, and likes to have her ears rubbed, her back scratched and brushed, and under her chin done too. Summer is ready to be adopted into a gentle and loving home, one that will keep her safely indoors and love her unconditionally.
