Rescue:

Spence was not noticed at first, but his footprints in the snow were. This happened on a country property, off the beaten path, and far from any other barn. The only cats on the property were in the house, safe and sound and not ones to roam freely outdoors. So when the little paw prints were noticed, it was concerning because the weather was frightfully cold and snowy. What little cat could be out here alone, in our barn, and where did it come from. The latter will never be answered; but we can tell you about his rescue. The family that lived on the property were going through some heart wrenching health concerns and the last thing they expected was to be rescuing a cat. But the Dad immediately put food out and finally one day Spence appeared. He was thin and pretty rough looking, and he didn’t trust anyone. With a little bit of time, rest and a belly full of food he soon showed his friendly side. The daughter went right up to him one day, picked him up and brought him safely into the house without issue. Spence certainly was not opposed to being inside a warm home.

Personality:

He is such a handsome cat, who did not take long to feel comfortable in his temporary rescue house. He is quite a nice boy, cuddly and appreciates a nice lap to curl up on. He is a people cat, and wants to be with you and keep you company. He was housed in a nice bedroom as they had a huge family dog and were unsure how they would get along, and he had the daughter to snuggle up to at night. Spence showed us that he is a playful cat, will chase after toys, bat around a catnip mouse and also likes his perch by the window. He is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors
