A pretty calico named Serena came into Pet Patrol care with her five little kittens, all about seven weeks old. They were found on a property near a famous tourist attraction, but this was not a safe place for her to be. In fact it could have proved to be quite deadly. A friend of one of our volunteers knew the man who owned the property and he had stated to her earlier in the summer that any animal that came onto his property would be shot. He has no use for any feline or wild life trespassers. When he told her about this mother cat and her five adorable kittens (Sadie being one of them) she said he is not to touch them, or go near them, or threaten them. He said “sure you can have these ones”. She immediately drove out to his place and picked them up and then had a stern talk with him. After this experience she will be keeping a very close eye on him and will strongly discourage such behavior. Serena has been very grateful to be brought into safety where her kittens are well looked after and she has plenty of food and a nice safe environment.

Sonny is the biggest of the bunch. He must have been the litter protector because when they first arrived at their foster home he would hiss when anyone came near the siblings. Within a day or two he came around and now he is one of the biggest cuddlers of the litter. He loves to nestle around your neck, tuck himself in and purr away until he falls asleep. He is playful and active with his siblings. Sonny is ready to be adopted into his forever home with a playmate. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
