Rescue:

What a sad life Sammy had led so far. Deprived of human contact and love, yet living in a
home. How does this happen? His story: a young woman was renting a room in her home to
help make ends meet. The young man living there took it upon himself to bring a young
kitten (Sammy) into his room. This was not OK with his landlord. Then a few weeks later he
abruptly moved out, leaving Sammy behind. The woman thought “well, I guess I’ll just keep
him”, and went to pick him up but it didn’t go well. It didn’t seem like Sammy had been
handled a lot by people, or cuddled much either or was he just really frightened? Although
she had made a few attempts after that she finally gave up and just let him live in the house.
He didn’t know what her intentions were and he was not liking being there, but he didn’t hide,
just kept his distance. Now the woman is expecting her first child and she’s worried that
Sammy won’t be good in the home with a young baby, so he came into Pet Patrol care.
Would we be able to turn this unhappy boy into an affectionate kitty? Fast forward a few
weeks and what a different boy he is now.! You would never know it was the same cat.

Personality:

Although Sammy was very unsure of us when he first came into Pet Patrol care, and really
didn’t want anything to do with anybody, he has made a complete turnaround. We just
allowed him time and patience. When he finally accepted touching he became such a sweet
cat. It is quite remarkable to think that all this time this poor cat was cowering behind a sad
and protective demeanour, and now he’s very affectionate. Sammy will not hesitate to rub
up against your legs and purr deeply. Raising up his tail and showing how happy he is. Such
a love. It has been fun to watch him explore toys and become a happy cat. Sammy is ready
to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him
safely indoors
