Rescue:

Pet Patrol received an email from someone who had been feeding this lovely orange boy for
quite some time. He had taken up refuge under their deck and they were feeding him daily
and providing fresh water. They were surrounded by farms in their rural community and it is
known that the farm closest to them was recently sold. The house is vacant and becoming
rundown and the barn has been closed up as well. The person who purchased it does not feel
that the cats should be fed because he wants them to catch the mice, so the cat’s reaction to
that is to leave the property. This orange boy had not been back to the farm since the fall and a
couple just felt it was enough time for him to re home himself but he wasn’t leaving. In the dead
of winter, they thought this is just not fair to him and therefore called Pet Patrol to see what we
can do. It was very easy to pick up Rusty and put him in the carrier as he had had enough of
roughing it

Personality:

Rusty thinks he is in the lap of luxury in the sanctuary . His bedding is dry, his environment is
climate controlled and he has plenty of food and affection from his caregivers. He is content
and happy. Toys seem to be a bit of a mystery to him as he has only had dried leaves and
pebbles to play with while living under the deck outside. He has shown an interest in the wand
toys and the laser pen light, as well as the cat tree and kitty tunnel. He is a happy and content
boy. Rusty is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the
family and keep him safely indoors.
