Rescue:

Pet Patrol received a call from a woman who had noticed a female cat in her neighborhood.
This was Ruby, a pretty classic brown tabby cat who quickly made friends with most of the
people living in the townhouse complex. However, no one would claim responsibility for her
and every night doors were closed and lights were turned off and she was left outside to
fend for herself. Sometime she would curl up under the covers of barbecues, or under the
deck. Sometimes people would put out a cardboard box for her with a blanket inside. Already
checked for a microchip and finding none poor Ruby was homeless. In talking to local
shelters she discovered they were not taking cats in due to Covid, and the woman reached
out to Pet Patrol. When she arrived at the sanctuary, she showed what a loving and affectionate
cat she was, healthy and in good shape. We may never know who her original owner
was as lost pet sites were scanned and posters put up in the neighborhood, but no one ever
stepped forward. Perhaps her owners were evicted and left her behind, perhaps she got out
and was from a completely different neighborhood.

Personality:

What a nice cat Ruby is. She is a very sweet and loving kitty, who has done well with integrating
into the sanctuary with the other cats. But she would do fine as an only pet as well.
She will readily rub up against your legs for attention, likes to have her head pat, back massaged
and is a pretty nice lap cat too. Ruby will fit into a home easily and become an important
part of the family. She likes to be with her people, likes to know what you do, and also
shows you her agility when chasing after toys. Ruby is ready to be adopted into her forever
home, one that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely and doors
