Rescue
Rorey was the first kitten of three, rescued from a small tourist village. Pet Patrol had been told about him and his siblings from a family who were adopting a kitty from us. The mom worked at a restaurant in the village and she had been feeding the kittens throughout the winter. But with the thoughts of the tourist season coming up, the owner of the outdoor restaurant did not want the cats to be around the customers. They may get under foot, become anxious for food, and jump on the tables. As you can imagine, this would not be very inviting for people relaxing and trying to enjoy their summer holidays! The cats had shelter in an old shed and were fed daily. But they were sitting on ice and snow and could often be seen pressed up against the window of the restaurant to catch some warmth. It did not take long for Rorey to go into the humane trap and onto his new foster home.
Personality
Initially it was thought that Rorey was feral. He was hissing and avoiding people at all cost. He even took a nip out of his foster mom! But that soon ended once Rorey discovered there was warmth, lots of food, fresh water and a loving person to pet him and rub his ears. Within days he was rolling over to have his belly rubbed. Rorey has come along nicely in his socializing and we feel he was an owned cat before he was abandoned to the streets. This is shameful for any person to do to a little cat. Rorey is now ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him as part of the family and keep him safely indoors.
