Rescue:

Regis was first spotted just before the wicked winter weather hit. It was still cold and wet outside, and he was walking through one of our volunteers back yards. He was frightened easily, but the woman still put food out for him and he returned shortly to devour it. She didn’t see him on a daily basis and hardly at all during the worst part of winter. She hoped that he had found a barn to find shelter in, but food was scarce and she was afraid for him. In the spring she finally saw him again, and he resumed being skittish and took off as soon as she opened the back door. But again he returned. On the second day he stopped and looked back at her when he ran away, which is a good sign. The third day he meowed at her and just sat in the yard waiting for her to go back in the house. Each time she put out food for him. On the fourth day he waited for her on the deck and she was able to sit about ten feed away from him. On day five he was rolling around on the floor, she was rubbing his belly and he was purring up a storm. Regis was truly and friendly and affectionate cat, and so very grateful tor the food, love and attention he was receiving. Soon afterwards he was brought into Pet Patrol care.

Personality:

Regis showed his friendliness right from the beginning. He was kind and gentle, loves to be pet and have a nice back massage. He really looks forward to being brushed and it helps to take out all the dead winter fur. He is curious about the other cats, watching them play and we look forward to him integrating in with them. Regis likes his people a lot, and is learning about toys, wands, dangly things and toy mice as opposed to the real ones that he saw in the country. This handsome boy is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors. He is very sweet.
