A young family was renting a house on a country property, that had a long laneway and a small colony of cats in the ancient barn. One day they discovered Paris running around their out building and they suspected she was dropped off. She was young, thin and in desperate need of some care. They worked hard at gaining her trust and making sure she was fed, and eventually she was welcomed into the house. Soon after another cat arrived, a handsome orange male (Palmer) and he too was rescued. Because neither cat was altered, and they were allowed outside, it resulted in several litters of kittens beingĀ  born all living in the barn. In the fall they were given notice by the landlord that the house was going to be torn down and that they would have to move. They realized that they had created a colony of cats (who will continue to breed indiscriminately) and were now going to be abandoned and left to starve. They reached out to a TNR program who began taking in the cats and kittens, and finding them new homes. Paris, Palmer and their six kittens, all orange and called the “pot of gold kittens”, were all brought into Pet Patrol care.

Payton is a sweet little girl who loves to be cuddled. She is often off on her own doing her own thing, observing everything that is going on. She doesn’t miss much. She does not like rough play but will join in on games of Tag and Hide & Seek, staying back if it gets too busy. She likes to watch out the window as well, especially from the cat climber, and will curl up for an afternoon snooze in the warmth of a sun beam. Payton is ready to be adopted into her forever home, hopefully with a sibling/playmate. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
