Newman and his brother Nelson arrived in the care of their rescuer when it was in the dead of winter and the temperatures were dipping to minus 25-30. They were part of a colony of cats that were kept in a heated 6 X 6 foot garden shed on the property of an elderly woman. She loved her cats, and spent a lot of time in there, and it showed because all the cats were friendly and affectionate, but there were about twenty two cats in there! Very over crowded and not the best housing idea. Nelson and Newman’s rescuer was contacted by the woman’s real estate agent as she was getting ready to sell the house and property, and all the cats had to be rehomed. With the help of other cat rescue organizations all the cats were taken into care and most have found homes already. When the last cats were picked up the woman started to cry and when asked if she was having a difficult time giving up the colony, she replied “no, I am just happy they are going to go and be fixed and go to good homes”, and that is our wish for these boys.

Newman and Nelson are quite bonded, and are sweet, gentle and loving. They appreciate everything offered to them, and are happy to be inside, have room to move around and people who care for them more often than an hour a day. Like all cats they love to play with toys that bounce, tinkle, crinkle and roll. They are good with other cats, new people and probably would do best in an adult only home. These handsome boys are ready to be adopted into their forever home together. One that will welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors
