Mason first appeared at a well known cat lady’s feeding station in the dead of winter. This was in a small town and he was observed at different times of the night, middle of the day or early morning, always looking desperate and cold. He ate ravenously whenever he found the food, and then would disappear under the deck behind the back of the house. The lady was part of a TNR program and a live trap was set out for him in hopes that he could be rescued and brought indoors. It didn’t take but a minute. Mason eagerly went in after the canned food and then onto safety. He was examined by a vet, neutered and vaccinated, then brought into Pet Patrol care. He has successfully recovered from his ordeal and has shown us that he is a friendly and affectionate boy.

It took a little while for Mason to settle into his foster home. He was great with the other cat there and and friendly to his foster mom, but living in a house was probably new to him. He thought that beds were great, and the TV was quite a mystery. He soon adjusted to the routine of a person, before this boy’s only routine was going from feeding station to feeding station and trying to stay warm and dry. He has since learned of the luxury of watching the world from the window sill and not being part of the ever changing weather. That food is plentiful and that people are kind. Mason is being fostered with another of our cats, Ariel, and the two have developed a great affection for each other.  Mason is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
